Authors of accepted and presented abstracts will have the opportunity to submit an extended version of their work to the journal Animals for consideration in the Special Issue entitled "Measurements and Applications in Veterinary and Animal Sciences".
ABOUT THE SPECIAL ISSUE
This Special Issue will gather selected high-quality contributions presented at the IEEE International Workshop on Measurements and Applications in Veterinary and Animal Sciences, focusing on the applications that emerging technologies in instrumentation, measurement and bioengineering have on veterinary medicine, animal and food sciences.
The aim of the Special Issue is to highlight innovative approaches that improve the monitoring, diagnosis and management of animal health, welfare and production systems. Contributions may address the development and application of sensors, diagnostic technologies, measurement systems and data acquisition methods designed for veterinary and animal science contexts. Particular interest will be given to studies exploring precision livestock farming technologies, biosensors for health monitoring, metrology-assisted processes in food production and analytical tools for biological and chemical measurements relevant to animal and veterinary sciences.

ABOUT THE JOURNAL
Animals (ISSN 2076-2615) is an international and interdisciplinary scholarly open access journal. It publishes original research articles, reviews and communications that offer substantial new insight into any field of study that involves animals, including zoology, ethnozoology, animal science, animal ethics and animal welfare. However, preference will be given to those articles that provide an understanding of animals within a larger context (i.e., the animals' interactions with the outside world, including humans). Animals has no restriction on the maximum length of the papers. Our aim is to encourage scientists to publish their experimental and theoretical research in as much detail as possible. Full experimental details and/or method of study, must be provided for research articles. Articles submitted that involve subjecting animals to unnecessary pain or suffering will not be accepted, and all articles must be submitted with the necessary ethical approval.
