Authors of accepted and presented abstracts will have the opportunity to submit an extended version of their work to the journal Sensors for consideration in the Special Issue entitled "Advanced Sensing and Electronic Measurement Systems for Animal Sciences and Wildlife Monitoring".
ABOUT THE SPECIAL ISSUE
The Special Issue aims to collect high-quality contributions addressing recent advances in sensing technologies, electronic instrumentation, and measurement systems applied to animal sciences and wildlife monitoring.
Extended versions of selected papers presented at the 2026 IEEE International Workshop on Measurements and Applications in Veterinary and Animal Sciences are particularly welcome. However, this Special Issue is also open to original research articles not presented at the workshop, provided they fall within the scope of the Special Issue.
The primary objective of this Special Issue is to highlight innovative approaches that enhance the monitoring, diagnosis, and management of animal health, welfare, and production systems, as well as the observation, detection, and management of wildlife. Particular attention is given to technologies supporting sustainable practices, including systems for mitigating wildlife–livestock interactions and improving environmental compatibility.

ABOUT THE JOURNAL
Sensors is an international, peer-reviewed, open access journal on the science and technology of sensors, published semimonthly online by MDPI.
Sensors provides an advanced forum for the science and technology of sensor and its applications. It publishes comprehensive reviews, regular research papers and data descriptor. The journal aim is to encourage scientists to publish their experimental and theoretical results in as much detail as possible. The full experimental details must be provided so that the results can be reproduced.
